The top storylines in multifamily this week are promoting responsible pet ownership, amenity versatility, brand messaging, tomorrow's renters, data visualization, EVs and natural disasters, future rent growth, where the jobs are going and rising multifamily insurance.

While public fast-charging networks have dominated much of the electric vehicle (EV) charging discussion and while public investment is important to the ultimate success of EVs, owners prefer to charge vehicles at their place of residence, necessitating the prioritization of at-home charging.

The decision by all major auto manufacturers to offer EVs and PHEVs in affordable, midsize, and luxury models has driven up appeal, meaning EV charging stations are beginning to shift from amenity to necessity.

For several years, there was a lot of talk about the impending increases in the development, production and sales of electric vehicles (EV). The anticipation for the EV movement has finally come to an end, and it’s time for multifamily to prepare.
