You don’t need me to tell you that a career in multifamily is not for the faint of heart.

The demands on team members are relentless. Between the pressure to lease to new residents, keep current ones happy, navigate staffing shortages, manage service requests, and meet financial goals, it’s no surprise that our mental health and wellness often suffer.

Even though this is often our reality, we are not helpless in the face of these struggles. Individually, we can engage in practices that strengthen resilience and mitigate stress, and companies can offer programs and services that foster a supportive workplace culture and promote positive mental health outcomes.

Ultimately, it’s time we acknowledge that mental health is a pressing issue across the workforce, including within the property management industry, and take meaningful steps to address it.
