Only Five Markets Posted Rent Growth of 3% or Above

Only five of the 50 largest U.S. apartment markets saw rents grow by 3% or more in the past year, the lowest since July 2020. These cities are Milwaukee (3.5%), Washington, D.C. (3.3%), Kansas City (3.3%), Cincinnati (3%) and Greensboro (3%). Other cities with notable rent growth include Cleveland, Newark, N.J., Chicago, Columbus, Ohio, and Indianapolis.
