In today’s multifamily landscape, understanding resident preferences is paramount. At the Apartment Innovation and Marketing Conference, industry leaders debunked assumptions with hard data. Move-in orientations? 68% of renters want them. Shared workspaces? 48% are keen. But above all, reliable cell reception trumps fancy amenities. Surprisingly, 3.82 stars is the minimum rating renters accept for online reviews and more than 70% of prospects focus on only the one- and two-star reviews. And while negative reviews are scrutinized, chasing five stars stresses onsite teams. The attention should be on current residents, where 69% said they would lease from the same company if they’re happy.
